Plant Local is proudly Western Australian

Nature's playground

At Plant Local, we feel privileged to have such a diverse environment at our doorstep and find the flora of Western Australia truly unique and ruggedly beautiful.

We have some active middle-schoolers in our midst who love to get out into the bush, hiking and mountain biking, as often as our busy schedules allow.

Finding inspiration

Our small Plant Local team lead busy, sometimes carbon intensive, city lives. We find inspiration in mother nature, from the sea to the forest, and purpose in promoting urban greening in our neighbourhood.

At Plant Local, we’re committed to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Our business is taking action on Goal 15, Life on Land, by promoting the sustainable establishment of urban forests and restoring native trees and vegetation that has been displaced by land clearing, concrete and lawn. We've embraced the Trees in Cities campaign and encourage every local government to join the challenge.

Data shows that our beautiful capital city, Perth, has the least tree canopy of all Australian capital cities at 20% coverage. Most of tree canopy is lost through clearing of private land which means we can all make a difference by planting natives where we live.

Tree and vegetation cover can cool local land temperature by approximately 5 degrees during hot summer days and improve biodiversity and wellbeing within our communities.
